San Diego Day 4

Saturday, June 4th
On the last day of our trip we took our time getting ready and packing. Once we checked out of our hotel we didn't have any plans so my dad said how about we go to the lighthouse. I had visited the lighthouse once before when we went to San Diego to visit with my godparents. There was a entrance fee just a heads up if you plan to visit it's a reasonable fee per vehicle. It was a bit overcast in the morning, but the weather was still nice compared to the heat back home.
There is a gift shop with a video playing with the history of the monument. My dad lives for all things history so we had a seat and watched the video for a little while. In the gift shop we picked up a lighthouse magnet to add to my moms magnet collection.
Also in the gift shop is some very heavy old style armor for a photo set up that has a backdrop.
Taking in the fact that it was a Saturday and summer vacation has started the monument was a little packed, but still enjoyable.
Due to the overcast it was very hard to look up at my mom who was standing on the bench taking the picture.... haha
With my zoom lens I was able to watch the seagulls following the boat from afar it looked like the seagulls we attacking the people.
We were a little to tired (lazy) to walk up to the lighthouse this time.
After soaking in the views from the Cabrillo Monument we decided to head home, but my mom still wanted some of the plants we had been seeing all over town. So, we took a drive around town just looking an I told my mom just get off and knock on someone's door to see if they'll jut give you one. Both of them said no and as we were driving down a street we saw a man outside his yard doing some gardening so we pulled over. My mom got of the car to go ask where in town you could find these plants and the man said it must be her birthday because he was going to give her one and she could choose. Oh boy was she excited!
Stephen saw that I was taking pictures and asked if it was a video because he sings and would sing for us. He signs in town at local bars and lounges. Here is the video. Enjoy!
We then started our journey back home making a stop in San Clemente to pick up burritos from La Tiendita. Oh some exciting news about La Tiendita they are adding a juice bar so next time we visit it'll be up and running!
When we reached the Grapevine we needed to make a rest stop and their is a Goodwill store my mom like to visit because she says they always have good furniture for cheap. We saw a few neat pieces, but nothing we couldn't live without. On our way out we came across this little rocking horse that was pretty sturdy for only $5 so of coarse he came home with us.
The rocking horse was turned into a plant holder.

I'm so sad that our trip has come and gone so quickly!! I can't wait to go back and get away from this heat. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing our trip. Until next time, CorinaH
