My Four Day Trip to San Diego
Wednesday, June 1st
June 1st- June 4th my parents were taking a trip to San Diego to go see my cousin who was graduating from MCRD and they invited me to join them. Since I hadn't had a day off working my two part time jobs I thought it would be a great time for a much needed vacation.
So I requested the time off and when it was approved I packed my bag!
We left town around 9am but, we didn't make it far before we made a stop at Starbucks.
Smile for a road trip selfie*

My current favorites from Starbucks are a trenta iced passion tea sweetened and a tomato mozzarella panni.

On this trip I made a checklist of things I'd like to do if we had the time. First on my list was a bean and cheese burrito from La Tiendita. Once we reached Oceanside, Ca it was time for lunch so it was a perfect time to stop by La Tiendita. Second on my list was to go down to the beach so, we took our lunch to go and eat by the pier which was only down the street.
There's something so soothing about the beach it just puts you at ease and makes you feel like your on vacation. We sat near the pier and just enjoyed our time. The first day was just a travel day so we didn't have any set plans it was more of a go with the flow day.
The beach weather was so nice!! and it was nice to get a break from the heat wave that was headed to Bakersfield that week.
Please excuse my messy appearance it was the first day of vacation and I just wanted to feel cozy and relaxed. I took a shower an my hair was clean and combed so that's enough while on vacation right? haha
From the pier we were back on the road headed to San Diego. Once we arrived we checked into our hotel which was located in the Hotel Circle. We unloaded the car and settled into our room but we had a lot of time left in the day and decided to check some more things of my list.
Third on the checklist was to visit a lush store and buy something, anything!
There was a lush store at the Fashion Valley mall which wasn't to far from our hotel. A little heads up on the parking it's Huge! making parking a little difficult. We parked near the forever 21 and found a mall map that showed lush was on the second story.

After we got off the escalator and walked a few stores down there it was I felt like a kid who got to go into a candy store! The store was smaller than I expected but it was packed with so many choices.
All of the workers were really nice but one in particular helped us out seeing I didn't know what I wanted. She recommended Outback Mate a blue swirly bar of soap that had a nice fresh sent. I was looking for something that would remind me of our vacation every time I smelled it and Outback Mate was perfect.
Outback Mate a hand and body soap it says wake up your senses with a zingyblend of eucalyptus, lemongrass, and peppermint. I feel like it does exactly that its refreshing and makes me fell like I'm on vacation again feeling relaxed and calm.
I ended up buying a bar of Outback Mate and some popcorn lip scrub and it's a splurge I'll tell you that but I justified it as being a vacation splurge a once in a while splurge. There aren't any Lush stores near my home town so I think that'll help me from getting carried away.
From Lush we then stopped by H&M to have a little look but who were we kidding of course we'd find something we liked mostly my mom. While waiting in line I seen this cute little puppy who had two different eye colors! Isn't he the cutest? I want one! He and Copper can be best friend.. No! no more pets! haha
After H&M we made one last stop at forever 21 because I wanted to pick up a gift for my best friend who's birthday is this week. While in the store we both realized we forgot to bring sunglasses so I treated my mom and I to a new pair.
My glasses were only $5.80 that's a pretty good deal to me! They may be a little different and weird but, that's why I like them so much and that's what really matters most.
Next on my list was to find the gold mind of chili tamarindo candy sticks. We drove around Chicano Park which is a little rough looking but I was dedicated to the search. After driving around for what seemed forever we found a little whole in the wall which had a never ending gold mine of Mexican candy.
Not knowing when will make the trip back to San Diego I decided to stock up on my favorites.
What? I only got four tubs ....lol
Once we were done we stopped by target to grab a few snacks and drinks for the week. On our way out of Target me and my mom saw a payless and decided to run in real quick to find some sandals to wear with our new outfits. Finally we were done for the day and picked up dinner then headed back to the room to call it an early night.
I hope you guys enjoyed our first day in San Diego stay tuned for the rest.
Have a great day and be Safe CorinaH
Disclaimer: I know it may sound like we did a lot of shopping/ spending but it's not everyday we do plus I had been saving money for something like this. In no way am I trying to brag or show off.
