L.A Flower District

LA Flower Market

Surprise party part 1
Searching for flowers? I recommend going to the L.A. Flower district in downtown L.A. This December my mom turned 50! me and my sister had been planning a surprise party since like June and in our search for fresh reasonably priced flowers I came across the la flower district. We had found premade flower bouquets, but they were very pricy and not very pretty with no guaranteed inventory. So we set a budget, crossed our fingers, and hoped for the best as we left town at 5am Friday morning the day before the party. We found a parking lot at the corner of the flower district $10 for the whole day. If you are traveling far out of town I recommend taking buckets of water to hold and keep the flowers hydrated on your way home. Also, the entry free for each of us was $2.

Don't judge my eyes I got like 4hrs sleep maybe and I didn't charge my phone therefore, a lack of pictures. rookie mistake. apologizes
The game plan was to take a look through both buildings before we started buying just so we would have an idea of prices and flowers available. After we knew we started picking colors we liked and  what would give us a lot for our money.
Since, I hadn't stopped and bought buckets like planned we asked the first florist if they would sell us a bucket with a little bit of water for our flower and they did for $2. It was reasonable seeing it was a necessity and there was no nearby stores to go grab a bucket.

Only me and my sister went so we had to take a few trips to the car because are arms were filling pretty quickly. Every time we went back to the car we would look at what we had, what we needed and how much money we had left to continue.

I think these purple cabbages are my favorite!!

Luckily the day we went Friday December 11th the weather was very chilly which bought us time with our flowers in the car had it been hot I assume our flowers would've wilted as we continued to shop for more.
Once we had everything we felt we needed/wanted we headed home to hide the flowers from our mom. You don't need fresh flowers to throw a party, but our mother loves flowers, plants and everything in a garden; which made us want to include fresh real flowers.
I hope this will be useful to anyone looking to take a trip to the L.A flower district. If you enjoyed this I will be having a part 2 to how we assembled and displayed our flowers for the surprise party
