Snowday

Saturday, January 9, 2016

Saturday morning I slept in because I was so tired from Friday but my parents said, "we are take a trip to the snow do you want to come?" A big part of me wanted to stay in bed cuddling my warm blanket but after thinking about it I didn't want to let the second Saturday of the year to go to waste. So I got ready and headed to Frazier Park with my parents, niece and older nephew. We first stopped for breakfast at one of our traditional "visiting the snow restaurant" Big John's. The menu had grown since the last time we had been there. Our customer service this time was horrible the lady was such a grumpy pants and didn't want to let people sit by the windows with the snow view. The view is the main reason we go so we can look at the snow while we eat. I must say since having worked in costumer service rude service stands out to me like a sore thumb the reason I think being I wouldn't have treated you like that! any way lets continue with my awesome weekend!

Trying to get to the snow playground was a mission impossible! The traffic was so backed up that we decided instead of waiting in dead steal traffic we just pull over on the side of the road. Where we had pulled over had a lot of room so no worries we weren't 3 feet from the road.

The snow we did manage to play with was enough since we didn't really have the correct snow gear! About 10 minutes later everyone was freezing and ready to go. My parents thought we head towards Tehachapi in the search of more snow and maybe we'd stop at the appleshed to grab dessert.

Once we were in Tehachapi there was snow but they had closed roads leading due to fresh wet roads that hadn't been shoveled. There was sheriff cars blocking basically all the fun! I know they are just trying to keep everyone safe. There was a bit of flat land people had pulled over to play with snow and so we did too. After about 5 minutes a sheriff passed by and said it was private property and everyone needed to go. With no luck we decided to head home as it begin to rain. Hopefully this week brings enough snow that we can make another visit with the right gear this time. Up to this point my 2016 has been great I hope yours has too. Until next weekend ~CorinaH

Disneyland

"All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney

On Friday I joined my sister and her kids on a trip to Disneyland. Our journey started at 7am on the road we arrived about 9:50am having made a breakfast/ restroom stop. From the parking garage we took a trolley to the front entrance. The weather was very nice but we still packed a back pack of light sweaters. Once we entered the park we grabbed a map and headed to the first ride!

Friday was the first day it hadn't rained during the day plus it was the begging of the weekend so the park was packed! At least I think that was only a quarter of the reason HA! the other three-fourths is because its Disneyland Duh! After we rode Peter Pan's Flight we headed to the Royal Hall to meet the Princess, they had Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, and Rapunzel. From the royal hall we headed to ToonTown.

In TOONTOWN we rode a few more rides which I don't know the names of. Also on our agenda we had Mickey's magical map show but before we went Mickey's house. Mickey's house had no line to meet him and the waiting time said 15 minutes which gave us plenty of time but, we ended up waiting 45 minutes by then we missed the show and had to wait for the next show time.

You can't go to Disneyland and not ride the teacups!! ok you can but, why wouldn't you?

By this time we were hungry an needed to refuel and so we did at the stage door café. I skipped out on lunch and we straight to dessert! I just had to have a funnel cake and I'm very glad I did because it was delicious an topped with a whipped Mickey Mouse!!

Once we had finished our rides for the day we stopped in a shop to get some souvenirs and snacks before we headed to the parade. Turns out we had the wrong parade time but it's ok because we were able to squeeze in Mickey's Magic Map and oh my it was a very good show. When in Disney make sure to squeeze it in and preferably at night so you get the light show.

Before the firework show we were exhausted and we still had a long drive home so we didn't stick around but we had a fun day and that's what counts. There is probably so much move I've skipped but its a lot to take in in one day! If you are planning on visiting Disneyland schedule like a whole week because there is so much to see and some long lines to wait in...
I didn't include too many pictures of us just for some private memories.  I'm going to try and make a video montage or something and if I do I'll link it here<---
I hope you can understand. Thank You ~CorinaH
