Legoland and more+

A weekend down south. I went on a trip with my brother, sister in law, niece, and nephew. Our three day weekend started at Legoland.  We happen to pick the weekend the new Star Wars expo came out. The park was filled with characters who I failed to get a picture of or can't seem to find.
These pictures are of mini figure town.
The day warmed up really fast! After we left Legoland we went to coldstone for a refreshing icecream.
The kids continued to ask to visit the beach. So even though the sun was about to set, we took them so they would have a good night's rest. After the sun set, we returned to the hotel to wash up. The kids were out immediately after.
Sadly it was finally time to head home.
On our way home, we couldn't pass up a stop at La Tiendita in San Clemente.
I ordered a asada torta it was massive! Although it was very delicious, the other half had to be taken to go. I've mentioned this before, but if your ever in San Clemente it's a must try.
True story..Weekend traffic is always a killer, but when you have good music, and cool sights to see the trip gets easier.
After a few hours on the road, we made it home safely.
Sorry, I don't have in depth details of the park. It has been a few months since the trip and I can't find pictures or remember too well.

Purple Hair?!

On May 22nd I went into the salon to get my hair done. I was going for a light lavender.  Here is a before picture of my hair.
My stylist started bleaching my hair to lighten it so the color could catch. I don't know all the technical terms and steps, but here are some pictures of the process.
I had heard stories of bleach burning your scalp, so I was a bit nervous. However, I didn't experience any of that. My eyes did feel as though they had been open while swimming in a pool of chlorine. At a tolerable rate.
The reveal of my bleached hair in the mirror was a bit creepy. Then the coloring process began. It was a bit longer than I expected,  but I'd do it again tomorrow. It's something you have to try at least once. If your into it of course.
My hair didn't reach the shade I originally went in to get. However, I do love the finished color I have and every day it grows on me.
I am currently using the shampoo below. I forgot to pick up the yummy grape soda smelling shampoo from the salon. Fail. My stylist recommend this one from Sally's beauty. It work really good. Side note.. for having my hair bleached my hair still feels soft and manageable. Which I'm very pleased with.
A very special thank you to my awesome stylist who always leaves my hair looking amazing!! CorinaH

Going back to school?!

Yes it's true. I went back to school. Let's start at the beginning. My senior year of high school I had 10 English credits I failed to complete, so I graduated without my diploma or rather didn't graduate. I spent the next few years doing nothing, but some hobbies of mine, baby sitting, until I got my first job. The weight of being a failure or an incomplete graduate continued to weigh me down. It was always at the back of my mind. I thought I'll just go take my G.E.D test and get it over with but month after month I didn't. Coworkers and friends would ask me,"are you going to go to college this year" and my answer would always be,"maybe next semester." Until one day, my cousin called me and told me she was going to go take some assessment and would I like to come. I original thought it was the G.E.D so I agreed to go. Little did I know it was an assessment for adult school to complete your high school credits and receive a high school diploma. After I took the test and found out what it was I wanted to not follow through. Talking with my parents, I decided to do it. About a month later I took my high school transcript to the adult school, I met with a counselor that same day. After reviewing my credits, she said I could be completed within the school year. It was very do able. I agreed to start and then I asked,"when is the earliest I'll start class?" The counselor than said, "tomorrow." I felt my stomach turn was I really going back to adult "high school?" Yes,  I started the very next day. I was completed in about two months and a half and received all my English credits. It's hard to believe I was so hard on myself for so long and all I needed was 3 months of my time to complete school. I'm very proud now that I stuck threw it even when I felt so embarrassed to talk about it. If there is anyone else out there that can relate to the feeling I hope this can encourage you in some way.
This year the adult school attempted "school spirit week" turns out not to many people are fans! I still partook.  Why not?
If you never try, you'll never know.
If I can do it, so can you. CorinaH
