Double rainbow

The weekend of my brothers welcome home party it was pouring rain. Driving on the back roads we noticed a double rainbow.  We had to pull over to admire the amazing view. It appears as though it is a reflection, but it's not.
While we were pulled over my mother seemed to be absorbing the view. I couldn't help, but be in awe myself. The rainbow standing for God's promise to never destroy the earth with a flood again. At this very moment, I couldn't help taking it as a promise to carry my mother through her illness. Not necessarily to heal her from it, but to hold our hand and guide us through the storm.
He always keeps his promises.  We just have to trust whole heartedly in him.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

Baby Shower

Throwing a baby shower. My sister and brother in law decided to wait to see what their baby would be. So for the baby shower we were going to do a neutral theme, but after doing some Pinterest browsing I came up with this. I know you usually see this at a gender reveal party, but you make your own rules in life.
For the gift bags we alternated the color of the letters with the color of tissue paper.
The tiny banners were made with my cricut and I used a stencil to fill in the letters. The blue Hawaiian punch was found at Walmart.
The rain clouds were made from tissue paper. I found a diy video on youtube for paper poms and got the idea to do rain clouds for a baby "shower". And as for the rain drops I used my cricut to cut out ovals in three different shades for an ombre effect.
I wish I had a better picture of my ribbon garland, but I dont. I'll have to do a how to post later. Cardstock paper banners are my favorite way to add color and patterns to any event. They are very easy with a help from my cricut.
By the way.. It's a Boy!!!
Thank you CorinaH

WELCOME HOME

Happy Homecoming! If any of you read my blog last year you would have seen care packages I was making for my brother over seas. At the beginning of the year my brother came home. Yay! Words can't describe our excitiment of his safe return. As a family we went down to welcome him home. The weather was beautiful.
The following weekend after his return, we threw him a welcome home party. I made some flag banners with the help of my cricut. It was a long process but totally worth it.
I didn't get many pictures of the full set up, but I hope you don't mind. I'd like to add a special thank you to all those overseas protecting us back home. Thank you CorinaH
